Most people ride it to work, to school or maybe to visit friends. Nearly always relatively short trips. Sometimes it goes uphill; sometimes you get head wind... But you luckily also get wind in your back and the return down the hill. You get rain, heat, cold and generally changing weathers. Life has ups and downs. You might fall on the bike, but then get up again and continue. It is never just the same.
My life is riding the mountains. It is a crazy ride. It is though to go all the way without stopping during the way up. It simply wears you out. You get the usual weather bringing the normal bad and good times. The mountain has steep roads with edges, promising nasty falls if you don't stay on the road. Not to forget... You have a bloody long way to the top and it can easily seem hopeless.
When you finally make it to the top you are full of joy putting all that hardship behind you. You can finally breath. Then it is down the mountain again. Everything just works you don't need to work so hard to move forward. The problem is that the greater speed increases the danger. It is exhilarating to go that fast, but the turns and the edges pose as a real danger.
Once in a while there is a completely straight road going downhill, continuing for miles. These roads are lots of fun
Very great speed and little danger such as edges or turns. The great speed makes the breaks less safe to use and you will crash (HARD) if something goes wrong. Who listens? It's straight ahead, what could possibly go wrong? Right?
Everything that jumps has to come down again. The higher you fly the harder a crash. The straw broke the camel's back. Sometimes all you need is a bit of support and help when needed.
The worst part is that its unpredictable when I goes uphill or downhill. It is not always obvious to people, friends and family how I feel and when. Many, many mountains (>_<')
Right now it's flat roads with a little headwind. I can take it easy and enjoy the view not having to focus on the road all that intensely. Although I'm not sure if it's on top of the mountain or already past it. Time will tell
